Job SummaryThe purpose of the Paralegal role is to provide support and assistance to at least one partner and one associate in the group with a team of paralegals as well as managing a small caseload where you will be required to carry out some operational work on deals and transactions.
The applicant will be acting for both developers and investment buyers. A knowledge of residential and development transactions would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be fluent in Mandarin.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Liaising with clients, broker, mortgage companies and agents
- Advanced skills in Excel - creating and maintaining spreadsheets, completion and financial statements etc
- Advanced skills in Word - creating merge documents and merging from Excel data sources
- Monitoring client account monies for exchanges and completions
- Maintaining precedent letters and documents within a Case Management system.
- Secretarial and administration duties - photocopying; binding; engrossing; faxing; typing; billing; archiving; filing; telephone calls
- Conduct research and communicate findings to Partners and other Fee Earners within the department
- Attend seminars/in-house training courses in order to keep abreast of industry knowledge and legal updates
- Track projects, tasks, assignments and reports to ensure they are running within set timescales
- Work to set timescales and deadlines, ensuring the client's needs and expectations are met and managed at all times
- Maintain accurate data using Prescient in relation to client matters

- Liaise with clients in person, by telephone and in writing, offering clear and concise information
- Arrange meetings and chase parties for information and follow up on case matters
- Prepare and draft legal documentation for sign off by the Partners or other Fee Earners within the team
- Proof read documents on behalf of other Fee Earners
- Write letters and emails to clients
- Scheduling of large volumes of documents received as part of a transaction
- To monitor own performance in relation to the number of live files, file closures, file openings, billing, time recording and to take appropriate action to ensure targets are met
- Conform to risk management and money laundering procedures
- Record time accordingly, to ensure accurate records are maintained
- Photocopy relevant documents and maintain an effective hard copy filing system
- Conduct file searches.
