Cloud Engineer -Azure

Job Description:

Background:

This role will be an application developer tasked to deliver tools and applications supporting trading and operations. Ideally suited to someone who can work in a fast paced environment and solve complex business problems. It will involve developing tools directly on top of and within an Azure cloud platform utilising native Azure technologies while working within a Scrum and Kanban environment. Working as part of a DevOps team, you will be a full stack developer responsible for designing, building, testing, releasing and supporting small applications and data handling tools end-to-end.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• 5+ Years development experience in designing, developing and maintaining, full stack applications using .NET/C++/Python

• Familiarity and experience of front end web technologies such as React, HTML5

• Familiarity of end to end Power trading value chain and wholesale energy markets

• Has used Azure or other Cloud offering serverless computing (AWS Lambda/AZURE Functions, Logic apps, App Insights, Service Bus, API Management, Blazor etc)

• Has built low latency solutions for data acquisition and/or trading

• Has created proprietary code libraries (with documentation) to be used by other developers

• Uses version control and manages their code base appropriately

• Automation of deployments and testing

• Has both supported their own solutions post go-live and offloaded support to a third-party

• Experience working in a DevOps environment

• HTML + CSS

Desirable:

• Experience in the energy industry

• Familiarity of end to end Power trading value chain and wholesale energy markets (specifically European Power Markets)

• Data engineering experience
