Job Details

Reporting to the applications engineer, the role is to support the Havant hose assembly operation. Focused on receiving customer enquiries, creating a parts list from customer drawings, noting and marking up customer drawings that require changes, obtaining costs for hoses and components and putting together quotations. Close customer, supplier and operations communications are essential as well as working to deadlines for submission of quotes.

Receive and log new customer hose assembly and fluid conveyance enquiries, noting due dates. Check customer drawings and specifications, creating a list of Eaton part numbers and specifications that meet the customer requirements. Note any changes required from the customer specifications and that will either require customer drawing changes or concessions. Customer drawings may need to be marked up with the required changes and discussions with the customers will be required to discuss and agree any changes. This may take place with a design qualification review with engineering, sales and purchasing representation. Technical / commercial solutions should be proposed. Comparison between CAD and 2D drawing may be required. Working with other Eaton locations to establish costs and lead times for hoses / fittings / tubes for prototype, PPAP and production requirements. Putting together a costed bill of material, utilising Eaton MFGPro system and calculating sales prices including any tooling and other requirements. Submitting quotations via email or customer portal. Setting up bills of material and part numbers in varioua Eaton systems. Making proposals on costs of assemblies and margins and selling prices to customers. Working to tight deadlines, establishing good communications and develoing relationships within Eaton and with customers are essential. Also supports UK and Ireland Fluid Conveyance distributors with technical support / applications advice.
Ideally degree in mechanical engineering, at least A level - Maths and English Full training will be provided PowerPoint, Excel, read engineering / CAD drawings - engineering biased People communications, telephone / conference calls
