An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Antenna Design and Test Engineer to join our established Radio Frequency (RF) Team here at JLR.
The purpose of this role is to develop RF techniques including implementation and testing of new hardware and innovations developed for use in JLR vehicles. This role requires the individual to work with development and hardware engineers throughout the process of design, through prototypes and into production to assure best practice is designed into the product and innovation of new ideas can be quantified. This allows the role to evaluate and determine customer benefits and leading to system strategies being deployed.
The role of the engineer will operate within the co-located Electrical and Vehicle Engineering organisation. The role will focus on testing vehicles at various stages of development both within internal facilities, externally in test areas as well as dynamically on proving grounds and on public roads. The role will need to support multiple other teams across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with other stakeholders, affecting RF properties alongside simulation and test facilities within the JLR product engineering function. The need to develop standards, processes and best practices will allow the candidate to develop the performance of antennas, tuners and customer experiences. The engineer will work alongside other testers and development teams and to create collaboration, where appropriate.WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a passion for and an understanding of Radio Frequency sources, transmission, reflections and antenna design as well as a willingness to learn, read up on, develop theories and ask questions on new RF concepts. Electronics hardware experience and an understanding of test equipment used with RF transmissions is also required.
Additionally, you will have an eye for detail in preparation and testing and a proven ability to work on own initiative; prioritizing workload demands personally and for team members.
