What’s in it for the volunteer?
Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent exists to support some of the most vulnerable of our elders as well as helping others who simply might not have all of the skills and knowledge to make their own way through the later stages of their lives. By working with and for the Charity you will be contributing to the wellbeing of others whilst at the same time giving yourself the satisfaction of being a valuable and valued member of society.
There are six scheduled board meetings a year (3 hours’ duration in working hours) plus one all day strategy meeting, usually in Uxbridge. In addition, trustees are encouraged to join a subcommittee or working group to further the work of the board and support the Senior Management Team. Meetings are usually held in Hayes (teleconference facilities available). They are expected to keep up to date with Board and other documents and contribute to email discussions. Occasionally Trustees may be invited to participate in induction sessions, staff and volunteer events, external gatherings with stakeholders.
