Supply Chain Operations Manager

As the Supply Chain Operations Managers for NanoSUN, you will report to the Manufacturing Director and be responsible for establishing, developing, fostering, and managing the company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy, to include strategic third-party partnerships as well as associated operational policies and procedures. Every effort should be focused on maximizing manufacturing process efficiency and productivity - enabling NanoSUN to deliver the highest level of production schedule confidence to our teams, investors, and ultimately, the customer.

Job Description

NanoSUN is the sector leading technology for mobile Hydrogen refuelling and is undergoing a dramatic and exciting period of change, rapidly expanding its technology portfolio and future customer base. The business requires a strong commercial and operationally minded supply chain/procurement professional that will bring a high degree of business acumen but also a can-do attitude into a rapidly growing and very high-performing team environment. We continuously seek commercial initiatives through partnerships while developing the technologies across the manufacturing landscape. This roles must bring integrated supply chain optimisation through approaches focused on organisational, product, and sector risk mitigation.

Supply Chain Manager duties and responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership team to ensure strategic aims are met
  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
  • Generate, maintain, and optimise the overall value stream landscape
  • Establish and review key supply chain KPIs through transparent risk-based analysis
  • Ensure performance information is provided and reviewed, to include external performance benchmarking - actions should include change management, risk management, dispute resolution, document management, contingency planning, managing key contractual events (e.g. periodic cost reviews)
  • Comply with all suitable internal and external process and procedural requirements
  • Integrate/collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Commercial, Operations, and support teams to determine best overall optimised supply chain and vendor network
  • Suggest solutions for process improvements through LEAN strategies
  • Identify process constraints and bottlenecks while also implementing solutions to drive commercial advantages in a customer focused timely manner
  • Train, collaborate, and evaluate direct supports as well as the others
  • Provide constructive, business wide, fully integrated feedback
  • Build and maintain good relationships with vendors and contractors


Supply Chain Manager requirements and qualifications
  • Quantifiable previous working experience as a Supply Chain Manager within an Operational environment with significant and demonstratable group and business level positive outcomes
  • Sense of ownership/pride in your performance and its impact on company's success
  • Application of LEAN tools, critical thinking, and problem-solving - able apply own knowledge and experience to formulate rules and processes IAW internal and external guidance and regulations
  • Excellent organisation skills - able to prioritise tasks, quickly learn and apply new skills/knowledge
  • Team player with experience in organisational integration - able to operate collaboratively as part of a small team but also able to work autonomously on parallel tasks and projects
  • Self-starter with good time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills including stakeholder management - conducting relationships with customers and suppliers (internal and external) with courtesy, integrity and propriety
  • Decision maker - able to use discretion and initiative to take decisions within the context of existing operational policies and guidelines
  • University degree/relevant experience in Supply Chain Management or related and relevant field
  • Hold, or be working towards, a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIPS)
