An excellent opportunity has arisen for a reliable and loyal, hardworking Special Needs Support Assistant in St Helens. You will be supported and given the opportunity to shine and become part of an experienced SEN Department with a proven track record for their progression.
The department has just received extra funding for a pupil who is Autistic and they are looking for a Special Needs Support assistant who can bring confidence, enthusiasm and motivation in the classroom, along with a smile and sense of humour.
Your new role
You will be required to work with a key stage 3 autistic pupil who has severe challenging behaviour. You will work with this child ensuring they are included and are keeping on task in core subjects. The majority of your time will be spent working on a one to one basis however you may be expected to take some small groups.
What you'll need to succeed
Special Needs experience is highly desirable, however not essential. This role requires a confident and patient individual who has competent behaviour management skills.
