Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? Are you a dedicated and supportive teaching assistant? Do you have experience working with children with Autism, physical disabilities and complex needs?

Teaching Assistant for a Specialist SEND School in Preston (PR2).

The school is looking for strong teaching assistants who can adapt easily to different classes with different needs whilst helping deliver a highly personalised curriculum that is tailored directly to the needs of each pupil. You must be able to engage with students that have a range of profound social, communicative, language and learning difficulties and will also require personal care.

The school caters for children aged 11-16 with additional needs including PMLD, Autism, SLD, medical needs, MLD, challenging behaviour, communication difficulties and physical difficulties. Some of the children will also require personal care within the school.

The school is looking for the successful teaching assistant to start when the school is back at full capacity after the national lockdown is lifted. If you are looking for work and think you are suitable for this role, or want to find out more, please apply below.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience with Autism, Physical Difficulties and other Complex Needs.
Great communication skills & the ability to build good relationships with staff and pupils.
A good knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to adapt it according to the needs of the children.
The initiative, ability and desire to creatively support students in lessons.
A strong work ethic.
