THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a chance for you to join an innovative global manufacturing company who are looking for Designers to join their Design and Estimating team, based at their site in Gateshead. This is an opportunity to join a thriving business who can offer clear progression opportunities. Commencing as an entry level Designer, you will learn an extensive product base and work with leading software packages, as part of a collaborative and close-knit team.

YOUR DUTIES

As a Designer, you will be responsible for the design and estimating stages of various projects across the business, which will see you bringing a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You will be:

Using leading industry software to produce quotations, calculations and designs for products within the company portfolio

Working with CAD

Coordinating with internal stakeholders and customers regarding project timeframes and customer expectations

Developing knowledge of the company products and system design, understanding different markets and best practices

Booking projects in and out of a central records log

Working efficiently to ensure agreed KPI's are met

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

This is a permanent position based at the company's site in Gateshead, working from 9.00am until 5.00pm Monday - Friday.

You will receive a starting salary of £17,000, with definite progression opportunities available.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for the role of Designer, you need to meet the following criteria:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

A desire to develop a career as a Designer, with an interest in the manufacturing and engineering disciplines

Excellent communication skills and a positive and proactive approach to working

An ability to quickly learn new software and a desire to learn new products and system design (CAD knowledge would be great!)

Although not essential, language skills (French and German) would give you a stand-out application as you will be dealing with international customers as part of your roe.
