Role: Graduate Software Developer (.NET)
Location: Remote (occasional travel to Newcastle)
Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum
My client is a leading technology platform based in Newcastle and they are looking for a Junior Developer to join their software development team.
This role is vital for allowing the company to deliver responsive, robust and secure software products that satisfy both business and end user requirements. You will be responsible for contributing to building and maintaining high quality software products and services.
Being mentored by other software developers and seniors will allow you to improve your Full suite of Microsoft based development tools skills in a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and experience.
Key responsibilities
*Build and maintain front and back end of software products
*Learn the full software development process from other developers
*Get involved in a pair programming culture, including code reviews and working closely with Design, QA, and other developers.
*Participate in agile practices namely planning, stand up, reviews and retrospectives.
*Be creative and intuitive asking questions and challenging ideas.
*Keep up to date with the latest developments in software engineering.
*Enhance products and services to a sufficient quality within time deadlines.
*Highlight any serious risks or issues to management
You may also be asked to undertake other duties outside of this job description delegated by the software development manager
You should have:
* A Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
* Knowledge of at least one object orientated programming language (ideally .NET).
* Knowledge of or experience working with SQL or other database technologies.
* Knowledge of iterative/ agile development practices.
