Main Responsibilities
To assist the Patient Services Manager in ensuring the provision of a high quality, cost effective Domestic Service to meet the requirements of the contract
To ensure that staff are supervised, developed and motivated
To ensure that the correct equipment and materials are used to meet the required standards and that these are used safely and stored correctly
To ensure that all Trust policies and procedures and current legislation is adhered to and that staff are aware of their individual responsibilities
To ensure a customer focused Domestic Service is provided
To be responsible through Supervisors for the control of the domestic procedures to ensure that the highest standards of service are achieved
To develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with all Trust employees and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and courteously
To take responsibility for Safegard audits (Sodexo's internal Health and Safety department)
Constantly assess the risk to the Trust for all Domestic Management provisions including COSH / electrical register
To write and investigate incident reports as required
To take responsibility for the management of Domestic staff records
To take responsibility for workforce planning
Attend relevant Trust meetings constructively contribute and react to requirements
Provide professional and technical decisions on the spectrum of Domestic Management Services
Undertake employee appraisals / performance reviews
To assist the Patient Services Manager in ensuring that all Domestic staff are appropriately trained
To ensure effective monitoring is undertaken in all areas within the Trust
To supervise annual leave, weekly rosters and monitoring sickness absence levels
To deputise for the Patient Services Manager as required
To liaise with service users on a regular basis ensuring that the Trust is receiving an efficient and effective service.The Ideal Candidate
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, colleagues, clients
Ability to work as part of a team
Proven experience of managing a team within a service environment
Excellent customer service skills
Positive attitude and enthusiasm
Ability to work independently, flexibly and professionally - dealing with stressful and changeable situationsDesirable

Awareness of quality management systems e.g.ISO
IOSH qualification
British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS) qualified
Knowledge of external cleaning developments and innovations
Experience of cleaning management within Clinical services contract
