Job Details
Liverpool City Centre based group of companies in the services sector with a £200m + turnover require a very experienced and commercially aware Finance Controller to lead the transformation of its accounting and financial reporting practices, standards, and procedures. The ideal candidate will be one that has a proven and demonstrable track record of and enjoys restructuring of all accounting procedures to the highest of standards.
Essential Job Duties:
Oversee all company accounts and investments
Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reconciliations and reports
Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants
Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
Recommend and implement updates and improvements for all accounting systems, including inter company, financial reporting, payroll and invoicing
Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information
Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior management and stakeholders
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Preferred but not essential to be educated to at least level degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field
10 + years' experience in a business or finance environment
High level management experience
Leadership and project ownership skills
Interpersonal skills with the ability to coherently demonstrate objectives
Outstanding mathematical skills
Honesty; integrity; reliability; solid written and verbal communication skills
Highest attention to detail
Exceptional organisational skills
In-depth knowledge of the functions and practical applications of Sage 200 preferred or other similar platforms
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Research skills
Analytical skills

Salary: Up to £70,000 p.a.
