Eden Brown Education are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to work within a lovely primary school in Derby city centre. The primary school is the heart of the local Derby community and are very proud of their Enhanced Resource status, the school prides itself on having additional resources from the local authority so that the environment, curriculum and staffing can be improved in ways which enable children with communication difficulties and autism to be educated with other mainstream children. The role is to begin at February half term 2021.

The role
- This teaching assistant position is to start at February half term 2021 and will go through to the end of the term
- The position is to work 1: 1 within Year 6 supporting a mainstream EHCP child with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- You will also be required to support the class teacher with the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons
- You will help to plan physical education lessons and support the child within their physical Education lessons
What you will need
- Teaching Assistant Level 2 or above
- SEN experience, working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential
- Experience of working within KS2, ideally with Year 6 pupils
- Experience of working with KS2 students within a sporting setting, this could be coaching or planning physical education lessons for KS2 children
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one
- Good behaviour management skills
- Calm and nurturing in your approach
