Electrical & Instrumentation Technician - Northamptonshire - £31,885 - £42,314 + on call allowance
An exciting chemical manufacturing organisation are currently recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join their facility based in Northamptonshire on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Electrical and Instrumentation Team Leader, the core function of the role will be to carry out all aspects of electrical and instrumentation work on plant and service equipment, during and outside of normal working hours. You will be required to maintain all plant and service equipment to a maintenance schedule and operate a Call-Out system. Carry out repairs to production equipment and site services to keep downtime to a minimum and implement plant modifications. Carry out all aspects of electrical and instrumentation work associated with new capital expenditure. In addition you will ensure the site electrical distribution network is operating safely and efficiently according to British Standards.
This is a days role, working hours are 8am - 4pm (Mon-Fri) and after an initial probationary period you will be on call one weekend per month.
To be considered for the role candidates will need to have an NVQ, HNC or City & Guilds qualification in Engineering. The successful applicant will have demonstrable knowledge and previous practical experience in Electrical maintenance, Instrumentation, fault finding and rectification of control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and service plant experience.
Experience of working within the chemical industry would be highly advantageous, along with knowledge and experience of BS EN 61508 / BS EN 61511, high voltage network operation and maintenance or COMAH site experience.
