Our client is a global firm of chartered accountants and business advisors based in the City of London. With in-depth expertise in many fields of tax, accountancy and finance, we work for clients ranging from large, listed corporates and SMEs to individuals, their families and their businesses.

One of the key responsibilities of the Technical Department is to ensure the Firm's business is conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, codes and standards issued by the regulators and standard setters. The Technical Department provides a key resource to help the Firm meet these requirements.

As the Senior Technical Manager, you will play a key role in supporting partners and staff in tackling complex auditing, accounting and UK legislation matters. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will apply your technical expertise in supporting the needs of the Firm. The main part of your role will include answering queries, performing technical reviews and issuing technical guidance and training on emerging issues.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

This is a position that requires a high standard of technical proficiency coupled with a capacity to demystify accounting and auditing matters. You must be a strong team player able to work effectively within the Department and across the Firm. You must also have the ability to liaise with and win the confidence of senior partners and staff within the Firm and the Firm's network. You will also have:

*Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
*Strong working knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS), listing rules (i.e. FCA and AIM) and UK legislation (e.g. Companies Act 2006).
*Good working knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP), auditing standards (ISAs), the FRC's Revised Ethical Standard and the IESBA/ICAEW Code of Ethics.
*The ability to apply the above referenced knowledge to complex financial reporting and auditing issues and provide practical and supportable solutions.

Previous experience of:

oworking in a similar technical position at an audit practice with public interest and listed entity clients (i.e. LSE and AIM).
oThe role would also be suited to an auditor demonstrating strong technical aptitude looking to move into a technical role;
