Job Details

NHS Lothian is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.

To this end, NHS Lothian welcomes applications from all sections of society.

NHS Lothian is looking to recruit a Chief Radiographer to lead, direct and manage the operational delivery of the Radiology Department within the directorate of Diagnostic, Theatre, Anaesthetic and Critical Care. This is a NHS Lothian wide position and you will be required to work across all sites within NHS Lothian.

You will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery and maintaining high quality of patient care in imaging across all departments in accordance with NHS Lothian's agreed corporate objectives and within the context of Scottish Governments quality, financial and other performance and governance targets.

As Chief Radiographer you will lead the development and implementation of a strategy for the ongoing improvement of patient flows for both scheduled and unscheduled care, through efficient diagnostic services across the acute sector, to ensure opportunities are maximised to manage demand.

Reporting to the General Manager for Diagnostic Services, you will be responsible for ensuring that all governance responsibilities are effectively discharged and that there are clear arrangements in place for scrutiny of assurance. You will also provide effective leadership and development for all Radiology staff in Lothian.

An excellent communicator, you will have demonstrable experience of leading transformational change in such a way that promotes proactive visioning and delivers co-operative working towards innovative solutions.
