Interim Management Accountant (minimum 12-month assignment) | Spalding | £30,000 - £37,000The Opportunity
A mid / long term contract assignment (minimum 12 months) for a confident and hands-on Management Accountant (Qualified, Part qualified or Qualified by experience).
This is a broad role in a large growing business. You will be supporting them through a period of investment and change and covering a maternity leave in the divisional finance team.
You will enjoy a good degree of autonomy (the team are working remotely currently) coupled with a detailed handover and plenty of accessible and ongoing support from the Senior Finance Manager.
You will be someone who has a natural eye for detail and a well-organised, meticulous approach. The remit is a balance of routine reporting and month end duties coupled with projects which surround improvement of commercial reporting / MI and KPI packs.
You will be responsible for a range of routine and ad hoc analysis to shine a valuable light on project costs, labour variances, capital equipment spent and ROI.
You will be working for a highly innovative, large group that can offer significant career opportunity to the right individual. The initial contract length will be between 12 and 18 months and is to start in Feb / march 2021. There is chance to really add value and support the Finance Manager with a range of continuous improvement tasks. The business is continuing to trade exceptionally we despite the unusual conditions and you will enjoy working with a talented team of colleagues. You will need:
- A solid foundation of core accounting experience as management accountant / finance analyst / assistant management accountant.
- You will be comfortable in a hands on accounting role responsible for journal postings and adjustments, accruals and prepayments, various reconciliations and review of recharges, fixed asset management, cost analysis and reporting, review of variances to expectation / budget.
- You will be someone who will enjoy being involved in bite-sized projects that surround improving the accuracy and timeliness of reporting and also the presentation format (to ensure reports are fit for purpose for a wide non finance audience at manager / director level)
- Able to demonstrate excellent MS Excel skills and an ability to analyse data to produce meaningful information for a broad audience of stakeholders.
