Learning Support Assistant - Lambeth, South West London
Are you a graduate that wants to become a Psychologist or Speech and Language Therapist?
Would you like the opportunity to work 1:1 as a Learning Support Assistant in a primary school?
Do you consider yourself to be calm, patience and most of all caring?
Can you start ASAP and commit for the rest of the academic year?
***Learning Support Assistant at an advanced primary school
***Lambeth, South West London
***£70 - £90 per day dependent on experience
***Long Term Full-Time Learning Support Assistant position starting immediately
My client is larger than the average-sized primary school. The proportion of pupils from minority ethnic backgrounds and children who speak English as an additional language are much higher against the national average. Currently there are over 35 languages spoken throughout its corridors which make this a particularly interesting and rewarding environment to work in. Based in the borough of Lambeth, it is in an excellent location for anyone commuting from neighbouring Southwark, Wandsworth, Merton and Croydon.
Pupils make an exceptional contribution to the positive atmosphere and harmonious relationships that exist in the school; this is reflected by gaining an "outstanding" in Ofsted under the area of Behaviour of Pupils.
The Head Teacher is looking to appoint Learning Support Assistant to support twin boys in a Reception Class; both children have language and communication difficulties and also lack basic motor skills in terms of balance and coordination. You will be supporting them through the transition of attending a specialist SEN school in to a main stream setting.
You need to be assertive, flexible and adaptable but most of all enthusiastic and passionate about SEN.
It would be highly desirable if you had understanding or working knowledge of Makaton or Pec's but this is not essential.
If you feel you possess the qualifications, skills and attributes needed to fulfil this demanding yet hugely rewarding Learning Support Assistant role then get in touch!
