Finance Manager - Borehamwood
About the job:
I'm looking for a Finance Manager who will take ownership of month end reporting, provide insightful analysis and be ready to problem solve. You will manage and develop a small team with passion and help creating robust processes and procedures. You will also deputise for the FD in their absence and provide general support to the FD. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other department heads and act as their partner within finance. This is a great opportunity to work with a high energy, award winning and goal orientated FD, who will be committed to your development and progress.
What you will be doing day to day:
Management accounts
· Maintain control and review of project profitability
· Prepare accurately and timely management accounts for FD review
· Provide appropriate analysis and response to FD queries
· Prepare consolidated accounts for 2 legal entities
Cash Flow
· Maintain cash flow actual / forecast schedule for review
Forecasts/budgets
· Assist the FD with annual budget setting
· Be responsible for monthly reforecasts
Team management
· Manage 2 x account assistants
· Mentor and encourage assistants with on the job training
· Development and maintenance of process & policies
Others
Maintain supplier contracts and proactively discussing renewals
Manage year end process and external accountants
Assist in other ad-hoc administrative and financial tasks as requested by the Finance Director
Any other reasonable duties as required by the business
What you will need to succeed:
· Experience managing team
· Experience managing month-end process
· Ability to engage with non-finance department heads and build strong relationships
· Strong understanding of double entry
· Strong excel skills (basic macros, PIVOTs and others)
· Computer literacy (Google Suite, Xero, Microsoft office)
What would be a plus:
· Experience in similar role
· ACCA/CIMA qualified/qualified by experience/currently studying towards
· Power BI experience
