We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work within our busy Additional Learning Support Team to support learner/s with visual impairments.
In this rewarding role, you will provide in class/out of class support to assist students with learning difficulties/disabilities to help them achieve their best possible outcomes.
You will be a key part of the team, and will assist in the planning, preparation & assessment of learning, giving feedback to tutors and managers on learners.
You will also be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students having due regard to the College's Child & Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy.Have you got what it takes?You will have the personal skills and experience to be able to effectively support students, dealing with challenging behaviour when it arises, and helping them to develop their own coping strategies. You will have previous experience working with individuals with visual impairments. In addition, you may have had formal training in supporting individuals with visual impairments, which would be advantageous. You will need your Maths/English L2 or equivalent grade to be considered for this role.Why work for us?
