New permanent job for an Accounts Assistant with a local town council.

Your new company

An exciting new permanent job opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant has become available with our client, a local town council based in Norwich.

Your new role

Working closely with the rest of the council team and wider finance department your role will consist of:

  • Prepare year end accounts to trial balance
  • Prepare statuary accounts and audit
  • Process monthly payroll
  • Process purchase and sales ledgers
  • Maintain asset register
  • Accurate recording of all payments both electronic and cash
  • Assistance with administration in other council departments

What you'll need to succeed

  • This role is ideally for candidates that are in the process or close to completing professional accounting study i.e AAT, ACCA or CIMA
  • Candidates with backgrounds in local government would be advantageous
  • Strong Sage 50 knowledge
  • Confident Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Macros)
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
