Maintenance & Facilities Manager

Location: Swindon

This leading international manufacturer of specialist equipment and components are seeking to recruit a Maintenance & Facilities Manager to take responsibility for their established site based in Swindon.

The Job

To coordinate and execute planned preventative and breakdown maintenance of installation and process equipment. Coordination and control of Mechatronics Engineers, Maintenance Technicians and sub-contractors at the Swindon premises. To ensure the facilities are well maintained and kept up to the latest EHS standards required using in house maintenance personnel and sub-contractors.

Contractor Safety

Lock out/ Tag out

Fire Safety

Machine Guarding

Asbestos Management

Electrical Safety

Process & Potable Water

Manage the day to day running of the Workshop coordinating internal and external resources to meet operational requirements.

Review with Installations Manager Installation Equipment requirements.

Maintain Service history records for Equipment & monitor fault trends, provide feedback on efficacy of planned maintenance.

Monitor stock level to maintain sufficient levels to facilitate servicing and maintenance requirements.

Manage plant reorganisation and upgrades including specification of new plant and equipment

Plan and carry out routine planned preventative and emergency servicing of equipment in order to meet requirements. Coordinate contractors to complete work in required timeframe.


Essential attributes

Proven Mechanical and Electrical maintenance background with a HNC or above in an Engineering related discipline.

Demonstrable knowledge and experience of implementing and sustaining preventative and predictive maintenance tools and techniques.

In depth knowledge of Siemens (preferred) or Allen Bradley industrial drives, and motion control systems.

PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft office and Planned Preventative Maintenance software.

A team player, confident to communicate at all levels, self-motivated, methodical and thorough with an eye for detail, capable of applying established problem-solving techniques.

Highly motivated with a hands on get the job done attitude

Able to use own initiative and cope under pressure. Full driving licence & Passport.

Desirable attributes

Health and Safety qualification

Six Sigma Green Belt

Understanding of electronics and remote-control radio technology

Good practical knowledge of small two and four stroke engines.
