Role: Quality & Compliance Manager

Salary: £30-£35K DOE

Location: Dronfield (with remote working)

The role:

As Quality and Compliance Manager you will be report to the Operations Director and work with Curriculum Leaders, Sales and Marketing Managers. You will take ownership of the management of the centres quality and compliance requirements, lead, and manage all aspects of OFSTED and ESFA quality and compliance and be directly involved in the delivery and management of the provision across the business ensuring our programmes are properly aligned with apprenticeship standards, awarding organisations, end point assessments, OFSTED/ESFA requirements and principles.

As Quality Manager, supported by curriculum leaders, you will manage the ongoing development of delivery teams to provide high quality teaching and oversee the monitoring of all student progress and attendance. You will be the designated OFSTED nominee

As Compliance Manager you will maintain a robust culture of high quality and accuracy. You will need to liaise closely with internal departments and business support areas to manage data quality systems, processes, procedures, and policies on all company data quality issues. You will manage all matters relating to audit and preparation for external scrutiny of data and will need to provide accurate and timely information relating to the quality, accuracy and verification of data.

You will be expected to lead and manage the quality and compliance of Apprenticeships and any other types of work-based learning.

Main Responsibilities / Key Performance Indicators Quality:

Lead on External Inspections of our teaching and learning and take on Centre Nominee role

Lead on External Audits of data and provision

Manage the effective quality of provision, including monitoring staff performance and skill levels

Manage the process of monitoring of students' performance / progress and work with our learning platform champions to ensure of its ongoing development to support our provision

Performance manage, develop, observe, motivate, and support a team of tutors to deliver high quality teaching & learning, coaching and

Manage and lead the data collection activities required for processing and analysis of quality improvement

Manage a robust teaching observations practice and Standardisation, facilitate appropriate feedback and manage any change requirements

Lead with the annual self-assessment exercise in order to monitor and evaluate performance, producing an Annual Quality Strategy and Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan, both of which meet the objectives of the business as laid out in its 3-year strategy. QIP to be produced in the Autumn of each year.

Safeguarding and Prevent Lead

Manage and ensure of your own CPD

Maintain all Centre Policies and Health and Safety

Working with Curriculum Leaders to;

Provide an organisational overview of quality

Facilitate standardisation sessions with tutors ensuring EPA, OFSTED, ESFA and company quality objectives are achieved

Contribute to the education and training activities of the organisation as deemed appropriate

Assist in the preparation of teaching/learning support materials and platforms

Participate in the development of apprenticeship standards and other curricula in line with existing and emerging industrial / technological developments

Participate in appropriate staff development activities

Support the development and use of a range of teaching and learning techniques

Contribute to staff development with regards to teaching and learning

Assist with the continuing development of resources to support the curriculum, implementing changes to meet OFSTED/ESFA requirements

You will;

stay well informed of national developments for apprenticeships particularly in the areas of standards, higher and degree apprenticeships: networking and reporting back on key areas

keep abreast of OFSTED requirements, principles and updates building them into our practices via strong communications

attend events related to our FE provision feedback/communicate essential information to the wider team

Provide a monthly quality performance report to the Board of Directors with a breakdown of key actions to address any identified areas of under-performance / areas for performance improvement

Provide monthly staff performance reports and action plans to the Board of Directors against identified criteria

Maintain an Ofsted preparation plan and report progress monthly to the Board of

Ensure all employees receive the minimum number of OTL's as outlined in the quality

Ensure that the centre and delivery team meet their monthly and annual CPD and staff training requirements as set out in the quality strategy

Demonstrate measurable ongoing improvements in quality of teaching and learning, along with measurable impacts.

provide an example of good practice to the organisation

maintain and improve the quality of the organisation's work

support the development of Equal Opportunities within teaching and

Compliance

Maintain knowledge of information and funding agencies' audit requirements in relation to student records and data recording.

Manage the funding/data returns process and the cleansing of data errors as

Ensure of accurate information on the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) and its alignment with our data return and accounts

Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring that all learner information is accurate, valid and audit

Ensure that full and complete audit evidence is kept to support the information in the learner record; this includes assisting in collection of audit evidence for internal and external

To liaise with internal departments as necessary, carry out internal audit sampling checks on data on a monthly

Continually review the information, systems, and processes to ensure development of high levels of internal control and assurance.

Manage the centres ability to maintain the expected contractual levels of performance of the ESFA

Working with Curriculum Leaders, Sales and Marketing Managers and Enrolment Officer to;

Ensure that our data management systems and content meet compliance and funding regulations, liaising with relevant parties to correct any errors.

Promote data accuracy and

Ensure that procedures and controls are applied effectively to increase efficiency and satisfy the requirements of audit.

You will;

Develop and keep abreast of current and future funding policies in order to advise colleagues of significant developments especially where they impact on audit and quality measures and our procedures

Ensure the centre keeps within ESFA and our contractual performance levels

Provide a continual review of the systems to ensure development and satisfactory external

Ensure procedural notes are maintained for all key tasks

Report to Directors with regard to arising issues and problem

Support the Finance and Operations Directors with financial operations relating to our provision working to monthly budget

The successful candidate:

You will be highly driven and self-motivated individual with a passion for quality improvement to drive up student achievement and progression. You will therefore have extensive knowledge and practice within the work-based learning environment and be up to date with current FE reforms, OFSTED, EIF and ESFA funding requirements.

You will be expected to lead and manage the quality and compliance of Apprenticeships and any other types of work-based learning.

Essential:

Whilst the role does not require specific formal qualifications and whilst a degree is desirable, it is expected that all candidates will have:

* Minimum Level 2 / GCSE grade C in English

* Minimum Level 2 / GCSE grade C in Mathematics

* Teaching Qualification

* IQA Qualification

* Outstanding knowledge of and experience with Ofsted & EIF

* Proven experience of managing / leading OFSTED inspections

* Held an IQA role with significant experience

* Experience in quality control and/or management

* Experience of working in the Further Education (FE) Sector/Work Based Learning

* Good working knowledge of funding methodology in education

* Working experience of the Apprenticeship Levy

* Experience of funding regulations with regard to classroom and work place

* Experience of audit requirements, an understanding of essential controls required and preparations for managing ESFA audit

* Experience of working in data management and data collection

* Ability to interpret complex data \ information and disseminate to a wider

* Experience of using a student records

* Competent in IT and High standard of numeracy skills

* Have awareness of local and national priorities in relation to work based learning and further education

* Strong analytical, administrative, organisation and planning skills and great attention to detail.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, report writing and presentation skills - both written and verbal.

* Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines whilst working under

Desirable:

* Good knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems

* Safeguarding L3

* Knowledgeable about international standards such as BS 7799 Information Security management System Standards, ISO 14001 Environmental Standards and ISO 9000 Quality Management

* A knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety as applicable to this role.

* Experience delivering training / workshops
