Our salaries will not be pro rata'd to take out the school holidays.
A helping hand from you. A head start for them.
We want all our young people to have the best chance of success in life. To make sure that's the case, you'll give them extra help when they're in the classroom. The right support can really make an enormous difference. As a Teaching Assistant, you have to be understanding and committed. That's because the young people in our schools have social, emotional, mental health and complex learning needs that call for extra dedication. Help them progress and you'll have every opportunity to do the same with your career.
As a Teaching Assistant at Hartwell School, you'll be working directly with young people in the classroom every day. You'll help them learn, monitor their work and help raise their self-esteem. It's not just about academic achievement; we want them to feel accepted and confident in their abilities. You'll need to be very resilient and dedicated to the wellbeing of our young people. Your support can be invaluable to teachers and young people, which means it's very rewarding.
As an experienced Teaching Assistant already, you should be used to life in the classroom and up to date with welfare and safeguarding practices within Education. You'll also need to be qualified to at least NVQ level 2 (or equivalent), but what we're really looking for is the ability to connect. We need you to build great relationships with all our young people, so you can motivate them to do well and be the best that they can be. If you're emotionally strong and good in a team, we can offer a role with exciting prospects. There are occasional meetings outside school hours, for which your attendance will be required.
Hartwell School is our brand new, co-educational provision in Stockton and will be one of our largest schools with a capacity of up to 82 young people between the ages of 5-18. The school will be housed in a completely bespoke refurbished building, with great facilities including a full size sports hall, MUGA, and specialist classrooms for science, food technology and DT etc. Students will be supported in small class sizes, by well qualified and experienced staff to help them realise their full potential.
