Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Mainstream Primary School in Central Derby, who are looking for an experienced Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant to start on a full-time basis from February 2021. This role is long term and will be until the end of the academic year.
The role:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be working with a large Year 5/6 class assisting the needs of children in small groups or lower or higher ability pupils.
Your responsibilities will include working closely with the teaching staff, helping to plan and prepare top-quality lessons and interesting, relevant assignments.

The role:

- An understanding of safeguarding children
- A genuine interest in aiding children's development
- Previous experience working in schools
- Enhanced DBS
Duties include:
- 1:1 support with a pupils or small groups
- Supporting the whole class
- Assisting the class teacher
- Communicating with parents
- Caring and looking after children during break times and lunch times
- Supervising children during activities
- Managing challenging behaviour
- Motivating children and being an excellent role model
The role:
- Mainstream Primary School - Year 5/6
- Full time, Monday - Friday
- Hours approximately, 8:30am - 3:30pm
