National Lead - Perioperative Care

Linq Healthcare have been instructed by a leading private hospital group to recruit a National Lead for perioperative care to join their senior leadership team. In this case perioperative care includes OPD, minor operations, pre-assessment and endoscopy.

This is a senior leadership role suitable for an individual from a surgical background but who has strong strategic experience too. Our client is looking for someone who does not need micromanagement and who has self-belief and awareness and someone who has the drive and determination to achieve the best results.

In this role as National Lead for perioperative care your responsibilities will include:
  • Assuring the safety and quality of perioperative services across the group
  • Developing an effective and efficient service that is scalable and utilises technology that supports patient safety and recovery within reducing length of stay
  • Designing services that maintain good or outstanding compliance
  • Leading on policy and practice development
  • Developing a people plan to ensure the right skills and competencies are available
  • Driving retention and leading a recruitment plan
  • Leading on quality improvement and audits
  • Undertaking on site yearly audit visits

To be considered for this position you should have the following experience:
  • Managing perioperative services across a variety of healthcare settings
  • Leadership and pulling people together to create a strong team
  • Inspiring and motivating your team to deliver common goals
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • The ability to engage, build and sustain relationships both internally and externally

Essential requirements:
  • Be a Registered nurse with current registration
  • Knowledge of relevant CQC regulations
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Master equivalent health related quantisation
