Currently we are seeking a learning support assistant with experience working young people of display challenging behaviour or are considered vulnerable. An opportunity has arisen to join nurture unit on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday). The Unit is small, personal, and high ratio of staff to students. Due to the students needs prior experience working in educational setting with young people is essential.
The role will be included supporting students with academic studies as well as providing pastoral care. You will be partnered with a student and work in partnership with them throughout their timetable providing emotional support bringing focus on the learning in the classroom with the class Teacher.
This role is well suited for experienced Teaching Assistants or Mentors who have previously supported students one to one in KS3-KS5 with ASD supporting learning and promoting positive behaviour.
Expected to start in January 2021 the position will be Fulltime Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:15 and 3:30 term time only. There is a probation period of 12 weeks prior to appointment.
The School is located near Smethwick Rolf Street train station for those looking to commute with an onsite car park for those who drive.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Prior Experience working with young people (ASD & SEMH Preferred but not essential)
2. Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS), subscribed on the update service.
3. Legal Right to work in the United Kingdom
4. Ability to attend interview in July 2020 and start Fulltime hours in September 2020.
5. Full Job History and original certificates for relevant qualifications.
Qualifications Required: 6 months experience within a school or similar setting
Salary: £65 - £85 a day
Hours: 8:30 - 4:30 Monday to Friday
