SEN Teaching Assistant

Leeds- LS27

Salary: £65+ per day (dependant on experience)

Start date: April 2021

We are looking for Special Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Leeds (LS27) for Easter 2021.

You will be required to work with students with ASD, MLD, SLD, and speech, language and communication difficulties. You will be supporting children every day by encouraging their learning and providing a high quality of learning support.

Main responsibilities:

To follow the guidelines for care needs and medical interventions, as well as undertaking any required training.
To prepare classrooms/corridors to the standard as directed by the class teacher.
To contribute to the wellbeing of the pupils
Develop positive activities for the pupils and establish positive relationships with them.
Assist students on a 1 to 1 basis as well as within mainstream classrooms
To inspire pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage in all activities.
Key skills required:

Previous experience working with/caring for children within an educational setting, preferably children with disabilities
Previous experience with personal care following school procedure
Having a childcare related qualification (NVQ or equivalent qualification)
Good listening and communication skills
Basic IT skills
