As a Packaging Developer, your role will be to develop new and modify existing packaging or artwork concepts, reviewing structure and design, in line with written briefs to meet customer needs.
Contribute to packaging or artwork brainstorms to create new solutions which compliment food innovation and maximise competitor advantage
Work alongside Group Purchasing where appropriate to source, revise and develop new packaging or artwork concepts as part of MIT efficiency savings or market demand
Work with suppliers to translate concepts into robust, viable commercial packaging or artwork solutions to meet the requirements of customer development teams
Design packaging or artwork in line with Customer and CSR brief and ensuring that samples are available in line with critical path timelines
Source samples and cost of off the shelf packaging or artwork in line with Greencore specifications and sourcing policies to support the NPD programme
Present the packaging or artwork elements at feasibility meeting to verify the suitability of packaging or artwork going into a manufacturing environment
Attend customer submissions, as required, to present new packaging or artwork concepts in alignment with the product submissions
Approve pack copy, artwork and final packing on delivery for launch to ensure compliance with final agreed design
Lead or consult on factory trials, reviewing the operational output to refining design as necessary and ensure that packaging is fit for purpose whilst considering efficiently implicationsJob DescriptionYou may not have heard of us, but we're sure you've tried our products. What we're looking for
You may have a background in science with an interest in packaging
Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment
Analytical; comfortable with producing and reviewing costings
Strong customer service values and a keen sense of urgency and the ability to think on your feetPrevious experience in packaging is not a must for this role but you'll need an understanding of different materials or the production process behind food packaging.
