THE CLIENT

My client is a leading manufacturing company within the Bedfordshire area. recruiting for Engineering Manager to join and build their team.

POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Engineering Manager the desired candidate will be responsible for:

*Day to day leadership of shift members including prioritisation and allocation of workload; deploying labour based on the demands and requirements of the task against the competency and capability of resource.

*Assessment of engineering team skills and assisting in upskilling and training of staff, including integration of first line maintenance of plant and equipment.

*Management and development of department processes; including shift handovers, briefs, and defect reporting/resolving ensuring "the loop is closed"

*Maintain and improve performance to maximise efficiency of operation in line with KPIs

*Assisting in the management and development of planned maintenance system, asset register database, and equipment inventory.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - ENGINEERING MANAGER

*Experience at a management or senior management level within Manufacturing environments
* Previous experience as a Trained Engineer
*Good organisational ability and the ability to plan and prioritise.
*Sound analytical skills with an eye for detail; good problem solving ability and a practical approach.
*Flexibility of working pattern as and when required by business need.
*Numerate and PC literate including Word, Excel etc.
