Inclusion Support Worker- Central Leeds

February 2021 Start
Part Time & Full Time Available (Must be available 3 days a week)

Are you looking for a new challenge for the New Year? Have you been thinking of changing your career path to working with Secondary students and helping the future generation? Do you think you would benefit from working within schools before making that big decision of teaching? We have many schools looking for long-term and shirt-term staff right now to start when schools reopen February 2021.

A school close to the centre of Leeds needs confident individuals who can really hold their own. You will be supporting SEMH and students with challenging behaviour across Year 7- Year 11. You will mostly be working with students who have been removed from lessons or students who you need to get back into lesson. There is a lot of patrolling the school involved - you will work within a team of inclusion support workers across school. The school expects you to use your initiative and not be intimidated by challenging students. It would benefit you greatly if you have previous work or volunteering experience with challenging students or adults. You must adhere to the school's behaviour policy and always have the most utmost professional mannerisms and respect towards all students and staff. Students you are working with are challenging and testing at times, but this is what makes this role so rewarding.

It would put you at an advantage if you do have a degree in a subject taught in schools - there will be opportunities when you can cover lessons across the year groups - if you wish.

Please only apply for this role if you are confident and have experience working with challenging adults or students, the school has challenging behaviour and really strives to help our candidates find long term roles if they can manage behaviour in school. Many of our candidates have become permanent members of the school in roles such as; Inclusion Support Workers, SEN Assistants, EAL Assistants, Pastoral Officers and Unqualified Teachers. There really is no greater way to get on-the-job experience than this if you are hoping to move into education.

Requirements for the Role:
•Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to get one immediately)
•Must hold experience working with challenging children or adults
•Have excellent presence - confidence and great behaviour management
•Must be able to create instant rapport with individuals
•Hold a clear criminal record
•Have two recent professional references (employment or education)
•Have an overseas police check if been overseas for 6 months or more
•Must be available 3 days a week
