Job Details

Wirral Grammar School for Girls is a vibrant and ambitious all girls Grammar School in Bebington, Wirral with a strong ethos of high performance in a caring and supportive environment. There are currently 1198 on roll including 300 in the sixth form. The school was established in 1931 and became an Academy in 2011. It is graded by Ofsted as Outstanding. With the upcoming retirement of the inspirational Headteacher, a rare opportunity has arisen to lead this excellent school and be part of a forward thinking and highly successful team of staff.

Results are perennially high at both GCSE and A level across the curriculum and the school consistently tops local and national performance tables. It is a warm and caring school with the focus on developing the students as well-rounded individuals. The school is defined by its core values of respect and kindness, the importance of hard work and its work in the wider community. Supporting this is a rich and diverse offering of extra-curricular activities with highly successful sports teams, orchestras and choirs, a huge variety of trips and visits both locally and abroad and many successful charity and community projects.

The school has strong traditions and fosters traditional values and at the same embraces change and innovation. The well-qualified and dedicated staff fully understand the needs and potential of girls as they grow from childhood through their teenage years.

The governors are looking to appoint a highly motivated and outstanding leader with vision, energy and the personal qualities to lead the school into a new phase of achievement. The school's success has been built on a commitment to continual improvement and the new Headteacher must share that ambition and passion. The role will be of interest to current Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, Heads of School or similar looking to work with an enthusiastic and supportive staff of highly skilled professionals and incredible able, bright and enthusiastic pupils.

As a strategic leader you will demonstrate a track record of achievement and have the talent and energy to inspire, motivate and develop those around you. With exceptional interpersonal skills, and excellent self-awareness, you will be adept at communicating to a range of audiences. You will be driven by your values, passion and determination to transform lives of our young pupils and be a role model to staff and students alike.
