Job Details

A client school in the Royton area of Oldham have come to Supply Desk with a view to finding them a Teaching Assistant to work with in Key stage one ideally with experience and knowledge of the Read Write Inc Phonics scheme.

The role will be to start in February working on a full time basis as a General Teaching Assistant to the Year 2 Teacher. As part of the role there will be an expectation to take a small group of up to 6 children in the morning for around 30 minutes and deliver a Numeracy and Literacy Intervention.

Due to the nature of the role a minimum of a Teaching Assistant level 3 qualification would be required, however the school would consider any applicant educated to Degree level. A core subject would be desireable.

The school in question is two form entry with around 380 pupils and is at the heart of the community with behaviour said to be good across the school and the senior leaders said to be having a positive impact throughout all Key Stages. The school is highly multi-cultural with a number of languages being the mother tongue of pupils and a high percentage of the pupils having English as an additional language.
