Your new company
Hays Education are a market leader in the North West and have a number of exclusive partnerships with secondary schools across Wigan and the surrounding area. This Ofsted rated Good secondary school has recently approached Hays seeking a Teacher of Health and Social care to start in March 2021 and continue until at least July with potential for this to extend. The school is based in Wigan therefore easily accessible from all areas of the North West and has a good reputation locally.

Your new role
The role is a maternity cover and is on a 0.8 part time basis covering 5 days with 3 full days and two mornings. In this role you will be teaching Health and Social Care across KS3 and KS4. You will be responsible for the planning and preparation of lessons and subsequently complete the marking and assessment of pupils work. As this is a long term role you may also be required to attend additional school functions such as departmental meetings and parents evenings.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this role you must have QTS/QTLS or be a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) and have experience teaching in the UK curriculum across KS3 and KS4. You will have strong subject knowledge and be confident in your teaching ability. You will be able to quickly build rapport with your pupils and engage them in your lessons. You will be available from March and able to commit until the end of the academic year.
