I am currently recruiting for an interim Construction Programme Manager looking to work within a large public sector organisation in London on a contract basis. This job is within the IHSE Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (PPPM) & Assurance function of a large and significant public sector organisation. The function provides portfolio, programme and project standards and assurance services, as part of the IHSE Portfolio Management OfficeYour new role
This role will ensure the public sector organisation makes the most of IHSE portfolio, programme and project management standards and best practice, linking to enterprise approaches, to deliver best value, compliance, efficiency and consistency.
You will maintain, coordinate, and control guidance and standards for PPM ways of working, including the IHSE Project Delivery Handbook and improved links to commercial strategy and contracting. Working with subject matter experts, you will ensure standards and guidance are accessible, value everyone, incorporate industry best practice and empower and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
You will ensure processes and formats, templates, processes and tools meet the evolving needs of stakeholders whilst improving the quality and predictability of delivery. Professional approaches to work in include NEC3/4 contracting and RIBA Plan of Work.
- Working with Subject Matter Experts and other key stakeholders, maintain and improve existing PPM standards and the IHSE Project Delivery Handbook.
- Scrutinise, facilitate and coordinate delivery of cohesive updates to the Handbook and programme/ sub-portfolio level standards, including guidance, workflows, templates and tools. Manage the Handbook's periodic updates, including its content, release/ change control, the digital offering and overarching Handbook description. Ensure Handbook is aligned to commercial and contract management strategies
- Working with SMEs coordinate the identification and embedding of best practice for Programme and Project Management standards within IHSE, aligned to commercial and contract management strategies including NEC3/4, with reference to RIBA Plan of Work, to deliver an effective service to our customers, stakeholders and continuous improvement in delivery.
- Analyse and provide updates to the IHSE portfolio management approaches, including IHSE Portfolio Management Framework description and services catalogue, including a focus on quality assurance and portfolio performance improvement, and on improving contracting to supply chain.
