My client a leading IT Services organisation is seeking to recruit an AWS Cloud architect to work with specific customers on their AWS Cloud projects

The Cloud projects are creating a multi-cloud offering based on both private and public cloud solutions. The AWS public cloud platform is a key constituent and enabler of the go-to market strategy and its associated mid-term plan forecast. This role will define and execute this strategy as it pertains to the AWS public cloud platform.

Responsibilities

• To be the foremost subject matter expert on AWS Public Cloud capabilities and work with colleagues to define new AWS based offerings that support the strategy
• Engage with Sales teams and support them from a Presales perspective
• Define and implement POC target architectures to validate offering approach to providing accredited hosting on the AWS platform
• Define and agree AWS cloud usage policies/processes with relevant stakeholders to ensure customer interests are adequately protected/maintained (e.g. Security/Audit/Compliance etc)
• Provide consultancy to internal & external customers on best practice AWS cloud implementations/usage
• Build relationships and engage with AWS partner contacts
• To identify and understand relevant AWS cloud procurement routes and options along with related cost modelling approaches
• Support bids proposals by providing AWS solution definition capability to bid teams as well as cost modelling and resource/effort estimation for Transition and Transformation activities
• Support the dissemination of AWS cloud knowledge within the business through engagement with practices, curating online learning sources and direct workforce engagement through briefings/presentations

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

Mandatory

• Extensive knowledge of the design and implementation of secure, highly resilient, large scale cloud based infrastructures
• Experience of working directly with customers to define and elaborate infrastructure requirements
• Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting up to CxO level stakeholders/customers
• Experience of deploying production AWS implementations with successful project completion and service transition
• Experience of designing AWS cloud solutions to be compliant with security standards
• 'Hands on' extensive scripting experience in the provisioning/management of AWS cloud infrastructure
• Experience of estimating costs/timescales for the implementation of cloud based systems
