Fuel Analyst - Jewson, Hedge End

We're looking for a Fuel Analyst to join our accounts team, to control road vehicle fuel supplier accounts and costs. If you're highly organised and like a challenge, this could be the perfect role for you. Based in Hedge End, you'll be working in our brand new open plan offices with great facilities and motorway access. What you'll be doing as a Fuel Analyst with Jewson:
Review road vehicle fuel expenditure and contracts within Saint-Gobain UK
Month end journals, accruals and assisting in preparation of month end accounts.
Provide analytical support for contract negotiations and other fuel projects, developing reports and KPI data as requested by Financial Controller/Head of Transport/Transport Director.
Responsible for emissions and carbon reporting.
Developing a MPG analysis model for commercial vehicles.
Responsible for the preparation, production and management of Transport Fuel budgets
Analysis of monthly fuel transactions and reporting on all usage, producing fuel variance to budget reports for managers and the Transport management pack.
Review fuel purchases checking for fraud and responsible for communications with Business Controls Analysis and reporting of premium fuel purchases Analysis and reporting of cross brand spend Analysis of inefficient fuel card usage Tracking fuel cards to ensure they remain with their allocated vehicle Communicating the above areas with Drivers, Branch Managers, Transport Managers & Area Directors in order to educate the business on best practice for fuel cards usage.
Responsible for fuel card best practice in order tomaximise fuel savings -:
Reporting for supplier weekly fuel prices
Ensure the accounts accurately reflect fuel spend including accruals for uninvoiced transactions. Responsible for the import process into the fleet management system Resolve fuel bad records, working closely with the Car/Commercial Manager Work closely with the systems IT data team and suppliers to develop and improve the fuel import processes
Manage the processing of fuel transactions for Saint-Gobain in the UK -:
Continued reporting on commercial fuel contracts to ensure adherence and effective management
Develop and control a practical model for the distribution of most suitable fuel cards across the business in order to reduce overall costs and maximise supplier discounts.What we're looking for in a Fuel Analyst:
2 years' experience within previous financial role
Prior project work / analyst experience
The ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
A good level of IT literacy, especially in Excel, and the ability to use various specialist applications
An organised and methodical approach to working
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
The ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadline
Qualification in Accounting (NVQs/AAT), or demonstrate the necessary level of competence through experience working in a financial / analytical role.
