Servo Engineer (R&D)

With an urgent need to expand their existing team, this niche market Norfolk based business has a new position available for a Servo Engineer in their R&D department.

This role will require experience in design and specification of servo drives and amplifiers and associated system control architectures and maintaining and upgrading legacy systems. This role would ideally suit someone experienced in Robotics Engineering and/or Controls Engineers with specific industry experience in Servo Control and strong knowledge in drive and motor technologies.

This position will include the selection of suitable motors and amplifiers to meet structural and performance requirements, including operating in harsh and high shock/ vibration environments. You will possess the ability to model performance through Matlab Simulink or a related third-party drive-specific application and an ability to perform servo tuning activities following real-world testing to optimise system performance. An interest and experience in stabilisation, and low latency architectures as well as in camera control and HD video architectures also beneficial

You will have a general willingness to expand your knowledge into new areas, take a Systems approach to problem solving, but also be capable and willing to perform hands-on tasks as required including wiring, integration and testing activities on prototype and production equipment.

You will also be proficient in English and capable of creating documentation and specifications as required and have experience of working with others within an Engineering setting.

Qualifications: Qualified to Degree level (minimum 2:1), Masters or PhD preferable in related field
