Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing Channels Manager

The Recruitment Marketing and Employer Brand team is brand new to BAE Systems, and this creates a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and future looking team right from the beginning. As part of this team we currently have a vacancy for an Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing Channels Manager to be home-based with travel to our sites in Farnborough, London and Preston.

As an Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing Channels Manager you will interface directly with departments across the business such as strategic communications, digital marketing and specialist functions within HR as well as partners directly sitting in our business units to ensure Employer brand content is approached in a holistic way. You will have line management responsibility and will also need to draw on other specialist expertise across the business (content and creative specialists) as a virtual team working together to deliver the plan.

This role will allow you to be part of a team that will be creating new channels and building on existing ones to showcase our employer brand, using innovative as well as tried and tested attraction strategies. You will measure and learn as you go and continuously improve your plan.

Your main responsibilities as Employer Brand and Recruitment Marketing Channels Manager will involve:

Works as an SME to develop, maintain and optimise owned and earned employer brand channels including best practice policies, processes, governance and supporting tools.

Analyses industry insights, market wide channel trends and innovation, to identify short and long term solutions that improve performance and inform future development roadmap.

Uses understanding to provide specialist insight and advice to Businesses & functions to influence, facilitate and implement change.

Manages, leads and delivers projects to deliver agreed business/functional outcomes, taking ownership of delivery on time, on brief, on brand and on budget.

Leads a working group to deliver Centre of Expertise (COE) requirements e.g. Champions advocacy across the business by working with colleagues in strategic communications, colleague engagement and across the businesses to step change participation and maximise employee advocacy as a key tool in delivering the Employer Brand strategy, using technology to facilitate best practise and measure impact.

Provides materials, tools and engagement support to equip the business and colleagues with "how to?" best practise in using social platforms for advocacy e.g. playbooks, tone of voice guidelines, webinars etc.

Works as part of a global community of practice (CoP) to share best practise with other channel owners

Delivers high quality, effective content across channels to key audience segments, ensuring audiences see and hear the right content in the right channel at the right time.

Oversees day to day management of channels to ensure best practise in scheduling, A/B testing, community management, measurement and optimisation

Your skills and qualifications:


Detailed knowledge of recruitment marketing channels, this should include social media channels and platforms, employer brand platforms, job boards and careers websites.

Previous experience of driving best practice regarding the use of media channels and platforms

Track record of managing a paid advertising budget

Understand the basics of content management systems and the structure of careers website

Technical expertise and understanding of effective channel strategy and deployment by target audience segmentation

Experience measuring the performance of these channels to optimise accordingly to drive ROI

Proficient in managing Vendor relationships and experienced in effective agency management best practise and relationship governance particularly with digital development agencies.


Previous line management experience

Digital Marketing Institute Diploma

Location: Home based with travel to Farnborough, London and Preston BAE Systems sites

Salary: Competitive - dependent on skills and experience
