Job Description
Waters Park House is a specialist Neuro unit which accommodates 23 clients with a range of complex needs. We are seeking a highly motivated Therapist with experience in Neuro rehab and complex caseload management to support the MDT and work closely with the wider team.
Key responsibilities:
To support the inhouse MDT
Oversee individual rehab client's journeys from referral to discharge to ensure individual programmes are planned and delivered effectively.
To review referrals and conduct preadmission client assessments.
Act as lead source of clinical expertise and review meetings as appropriate.
Chair interdisciplinary team meetings and review meetings as appropriate.
To hold responsibility for managing own caseload along with supporting the MDT. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy intervention to meet the assessed needs of Rehabilitation and maintenance of clients.
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work and support junior staff to do the same.
To complete a range of written reports as appropriate.
To ensure documentation/reports of yourself and other members of the team.
Skills and Experience required:
Bsc (Hons) Occupational Therapy.
Registered with Health and Care Professionals Council.
Relevant post registration training in a neurological rehabilitation speciality.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Current registration with Professional Body (CSP/COT).
Experience of working in a rehabilitation setting.
Highly specialist knowledge and application of therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning.
Experience of managing a team of staff including setting objectives, appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary issues.
An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to therapist/therapy service performance.
An ability to organise, co-ordinate and respond efficiently to complex information.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact on current practice.
