Financial Accountant | Preston| £40,000 - £45,000The Opportunity
Award-winning international group have an interesting and broad opportunity for a confident Financial Accountant / Group Accountant within a large and expanding UK subsidiary based near Preston.
Your role reports directly to the Head of Finance locally and you will enjoy plenty of exposure, a varied role, project involvement and scope to develop / progress within the group.
Supporting the highly approachable and experienced Head of Finance your initial remit surrounds all aspects of the monthly & quarterly financial reporting for the subsidiary / UK site.
This is a business in great shape and with an enviable base of high profile customers (UK and overseas). There is major scope for progression and you will ideally be newly qualified with an appetite and enthusiasm to develop and progress.
It is a group that genuinely adopts an ethos of continuous improvement and alongside your business as usual you will enjoy lots of involvement in interesting added value projects.
Rather than just 'turning the wheel' it is hoped you will drive forward improvements in terms of processes, controls, reporting and systems.
You will have plenty of interaction with colleagues in finance, commercial and operational areas of the business and also link with colleagues at group level.
The remit will initially include: statutory accounting (subsids and consolidated), varied and detailed financial reporting, ad hoc analysis linked to various subsidiaries), developing and revieiwng controls, review of reconciliations, forecasting, year end requirements, group reporting. You will also coach / mentor more junior members of the team.

- Be a qualified (ACCA or ACA) finance professional with experience as Financial Accountant / Management Accountant (or potentially making a 1st move from practice).
- Be someone who has high attention to detail and a keenness to really make a difference.

- Be able to bring out the best in others.
- Be comfortable in a fast paced continuous improvement environment.
