Interim Operational Manager (Band 8a level)

Role:

Interim Operational Manager (8a level) required for a period of 3.5 months (December to 31/3/21)

Based in Central Bedfordshire - must be able to be on site (working from home is not suitable for this hands-on role).

Location: Central Bedfordshire

Temporary: Expected to last 3.5 months with possible extension

Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £28 to £30 per hour (Umbrella) or £23.40 to £26.40 per hour (PAYE inclusive of holiday)

Key tasks:

* Provide business and managerial support to the Clinical and Managerial Teams in order that the activity, quality, safety and financial objectives of the services that comprise the practice/s are successfully delivered. In particular the Operational Manager will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive treatment s and delivery of the % commissioned for - with particular focus on QOF, enhanced services and screening programmes

* Operationally support practices to deliver contractual targets and various other KPIs and to share performance information with the lead clinicians, teams and individuals through appropriate methods of communication

* Unlocking bottle necks to delivery and planning for the improvement

* Respond to information provided taking appropriate action to immediately rectify and address any deficiency in capacity and performance

* Work initially within a Bedfordshire practice but also providing support potentially to an East London Practice

* Supporting the practice with quality assurance around policies and procedure development and implementation

* Responsibility for the performance oversight and management with the practice leadership and a specific role to lead in house performance meetings working with the directorate development manager with completion of performance & quality reports

* Drive the practices people participation structures - acting on the new patient feedback surveys with the practice manager

* Support the clinical director and lead nurse by providing capacity to implement clinical models including recruiting additional capacity

* Ensure the governance structure is working effectively with particular focus on the clinical governance meetings at the practice to drive improvements

* To place patient safety and high standards of clinical care at the heart of management activity and service delivery, having full working knowledge of the NHS demonstrating compliance through audit, recorded activities and process.

* To attend and make a positive contribution at the Divisional Governance meetings, sharing and learning from information on quality and safety, such as; incidents, case reviews, learning outcomes, risk assessments, infection control, patient experience, complaints etc.

The person:

* This role requires an individual with passion, commitment, excellent communication skills

* Strong operational experience in primary care - must be very hands on and delivery focused

* Action orientated

* Well organised

* Can hit the ground running

* Can build relationships with practice leadership and teams quickly

* Previously use in S1 a must
