Job Details

We are looking for a Production Manager to join a world-class team based in South Cambridgeshire, right on the border of Hertfordshire.

As part of the wider team, you'll lead and nurture their growing production team as they ramp up their R&D into manufacture!

You'll be working in a multi-disciplinary environment on some exciting innovations, so it's a really rewarding company to be a part of! The Role:

Lead, develop and nurture the production team
Organise and plan the team's workload, ensuring machines are built economically and efficiently whilst maintaining quality
Build, monitor and maintain production schedules to ensure sales orders and customer requirements are met
Collaborate with the wider engineering and R&D teams, reporting design issues and working on solutions together
Drive continuous improvement
Assist in the development of quality by improving in-process testing and incoming inspection procedures
Working in parallel with the materials team, ensure all materials and parts are ordered and on site, on time, to meet the production schedule About You:

Degree qualified with a strong engineering or manufacturing background
Excellent interpersonal skills
Process Driven Ideally, you will have experience in most or all of the following:

Production of high-value, low volume precision machinery, instrumentation or similar
MRP or ERP systems, and MS Office applications
Managing production teams; scheduling work; planning machine builds and reporting progress
Implementing/improving Lean manufacturing processes
Working alongside an engineering team to communicate, process and implement design improvements, including ECN (engineering change notes) and machine retrofit management
Handling and shipping large machines globally
Familiarity with quality procedures and relevant ISO standards (ISO9001 etc). Advantageous Experience:

Working within a start-up to transition to series machine manufacture Start: Immediate
