The Banking and Finance team at this law firm in Leeds is looking to recruit a Banking lawyer of 3 or more years' PQE. The team advises clients on a range of financing transactions across a wide variety of sectors, often with a multi-jurisdictional element. Acting for borrowers, lenders and investors means they have a practical understanding of the needs of all parties to a financing transaction. Their expertise extends to corporate lending, leverage finance, asset finance, real estate finance (both investment and development), project finance and invoice discounting both on a bilateral and a syndicatable basis. They work closely with some of the UK's major banks and financial institutions and have approved panel status with many of them. The firm has recently added a new Banking partner to their team in Leeds and they are now recruiting in order to support that new appointment. The successful candidate will be able to work closely with the Partners in the team on their matters and will be heavily involved in high value leverage finance transactions for the borrower and lender client base, including a wide range of private equity houses that the team acts for. They would also expect you to be able to support and assist others in the team on a range of banking work, including real estate finance and general corporate banking.
We are looking for someone with strong general banking experience, but who ideally has a particular interest and at least some experience in leverage finance transactions. You should be confident in liaising with borrowers, lenders and investors on the full transaction lifecycle and carrying out the day-to-day management of transactions, including running the condition precedent process and drafting and, where appropriate, negotiating security, intercreditor and loan documentation (both LMA and bank standard form). You will also have the opportunity to delegate to, and supervise, more junior members of the team.
