Job Details
Anderson Knight is working closely with a global client based in the West Lothian area to recruit an Operations Accountant. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a busy manufacturing environment however this is not essential if you possess the relevant costing experience.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work in a specific operations finance division and have one direct report. The role will focus mainly around operational and costing duties.
The main responsibilities the Operations Accountant position entails are:
* Spearhead development of the cost accounting system
* Responsibility for preparing standard product costings, releasing new cost standards, reporting on variances, contribution and profit evaluation
* Assisting with month end process and preparation of monthly board pack
* Support and contribute to the budgeting process and preparation of financial forecasts
* Conduct and evaluate investment analysis and appraisal of new projects
* Responsible for monthly inventory evaluation and reporting
* Working across functions within the organisation to identify cost savings and drive value into Profit & Loss
In order to be considered for the role you must possess the following:
* An accountancy qualification (CIMA/CA/ACCA). QBE will also be considered
* Strong communication skills
* Excellent costing experience
* The ability to solve complex problems
* An outgoing personality
* A driven/motivated individual
