The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventative maintenance, environmental services and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Director/Mechanical Director of Operations to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting process pipework and plant installation projects in Northamptonshire and across the East of England from their regional office in Northampton.
As a suitably qualified and experienced Operations Director/Mechanical Director of Operations you will be working directly with the Managing Director to facilitate a growth plan that delivers a greater geographical reach, meets increased turnover and profitability demands and expectations, whilst nurturing a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of the Mechanical business. This includes the management of labour and resources effectively on multiple sites to ensure project completion on time and within budget. Evaluating large scale complex opportunities and working to identify primary revenue opportunities and coordinating internal and Group resources to deliver compliant and successful tender terms. The role also includes providing customer quotations based upon scope of works documents and site visits as necessary, ensuring all tasks and activities are performed in accordance with company's policies. Other key responsibilities will include:
Creating a standardised format that works for all mechanical sites and managers in key areas such as estimating, quotation and RAMS.
Driving a culture of safe working practice throughout all mechanical sites and employees.
Setting clear, stretched Goals and Objectives for key performers.
Managing and facilitating training records and compliance to industry standards. About You
Based ideally in the Northampton you will need to live within a commutable distance of NN10 6FD and be prepared to travel to sites as necessary to fulfil the duties of the role.
Demonstrable experience of directing mechanical contracting operations across multiple sites and multiple clients ideally within the food and beverage processing industry. Also, a sound knowledge of process pipework and plant installations with a good understanding of the technical and contractual process involved. Applications will be considered from local candidates with mechanical contracting experience within the automotive, petro-chemical or manufacturing industries.
