Operations Manager / Contracts Manager

The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventative maintenance, environmental services and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager / Contracts Manager to join the company supporting projects in Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and across the East of England from their regional office in Northampton.
As a suitably qualified and experienced Operations Manager/Contracts Manager you will be working on a variety of mechanical contracting projects associated with the food processing industry, across multiple clients. Specifically, process pipework and plant installations with the primary responsibility of fulfilling the company's contractual obligations, but the role will also include:
Procurement of relevant plant and materials and sub-contractor packages
Driving a culture of health and safety.
Managing and forecasting spend to ensure the work is kept to budget.
Analysis of labour resource requirements for the project and placement and control of labour and associated costs.
Regular site visits monitoring works progress and ensuring the quality of work is to the required standard.
Managing projects and delivering against contracted targets.
Preparation of monthly applications for payment and costing of variations.
Preparation of work in progress reports for submission to the Directors.
Liaising closely with other professionals, including clients, project engineers and suppliers
Attending a range of project group and technical meetings.
Assisting in preparing tender submissions.About You
Based ideally in the Northampton you will need to live within a commutable distance of NN10 6FD and be prepared to travel to sites as necessary to fulfil the duties of the role.
Demonstrable experience of mechanical contracting across multiple sites and multiple clients ideally within the food and beverage processing industry. Also, a sound knowledge of process pipework and plant installations with a good understanding of the technical and contractual process involved. Applications will be considered from local candidates with mechanical contracting experience within the automotive, petro-chemical or other manufacturing industries.
