We're currently seeking a Liverpool-based Clinical/Laboratory Operations & Logistics Manager to work within a high output diagnostics laboratory environment as part of the UK's NHS Test and Trace programme. This is a fulltime opportunity to start as soon as possible, initially until December 2021 with view for extension, paying £23.47 per hour plus holiday pay.

You will be responsible for the management of a busy 24/7 receipt and distribution department within a medical laboratory. You will also be responsible for the receipting and logging of samples as they arrive in the laboratory, unpacking, delivering to the laboratory floor, disposal of waste materials and management of consumable stocks.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Provide the day to day supervisory management of the department/section
Assist the Laboratory Manager in the timely provision of diagnostic (technical) services
Be involved in support service to support routine and specialist procedures and investigations
Plan, supervise and ensure all necessary audits are undertaken according to prescribed timeframes
Liaise with medical and scientific staff within the Department and any other third-party as necessary
Communicate to and assist the Supply Chain Manager with HR or HR related matters
Supervise staff, organise and prioritise workload to meet demanding deadlines
Ensure all staff within the department complies with Health and Safety protocols
Assist in the production of all Standard Operating Procedures for laboratory analyses, use of equipment, care of the working environment
Facilitate the keeping of adequate stocks, materials and pharmaceuticals as appropriate for each product, to ensure patient safety
Requisition repairs of estate or equipment by the hospital estates department
Arrange annual maintenance contracts for equipment, standing orders and consumables including all sites where appropriate
Perform staff appraisalsIdeal candidate will:

Have experience of managing a fast-paced high output R&D department
Have a background in operations or logistics/inventory control
