Safer Living Foundation is focused on reducing sexual offending and re-offending through rehabilitative and preventative initiatives. We are currently seeking new members to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee you will be involved in the governance of the charity, setting the strategic direction as well as supporting the Chief Officer. We are looking for skilled strategic minded individuals with a variety of experience to join and strengthen our existing board. If you passionately share our values we’d love to hear from you
Trustees must have:
- A commitment to SLF and its objectives.
- Good, independent judgement
- Strategic vision
- A willingness to speak their mind
- An understanding of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
- A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as a Trustee
- An ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- An ability to think creatively

You will play a fundamental role in ensuring we meet our charitable objectives of promoting the protection of people from, and the prevention of, sexual crime and promoting the rehabilitation of persons who have committed or who are likely to commit sexual offences against others. You will be joining a passionate and dedicated team as we move into a more strategic future. You will have the opportunity to really showcase your skills as well as learn new ones.
Time Commitment and other information:
The board meet every 2 months and remote attendance can be supported. The role is subject to an enhanced satisfactory DBS check and you will also need to pass prison vetting. This is because meetings typically take place in the prison and we work with vulnerable people.
