About the opportunity:
To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for a Senior Hydrologist to join our Manchester team. You will play a key role within a multi-disciplinary team that is operating nationally for clients such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities and for the utilities sector as well as internationally.
The successful individual will have a proven track record and be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of hydrological analysis and modelling across a range of applications. They will also have the necessary skills to mentor and develop more junior staff, be able to manage their own time and that of others, to play a key role in project delivery and, ideally, have a drive for technical excellence and promoting innovation.
You will support a variety of studies across the water management sector, including flood risk management, reservoir engineering, low flow and water resource studies and environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects in the UK and potentially overseas. About you
Well established within your career you are comfortable with a variety of roles. With well-developed knowledge of Hydrology, you have applied this in supervising, coordinating and supporting of junior staff. You are proactive and use your initiative to drive projects and are happy to take ownership of technical delivery, client relationships and to contribute to business development and project management. Enthusiastic about planning and delivering innovative schemes to manage flooding you wish to work on increasingly complex projects and build your skills in project management, business development and leadership.Here's What You'll Need:
- Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Geography, Engineering or a related discipline
- Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team
- Excellent literacy, communication, analytical and numeracy skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Chartered or approaching chartership with ICE or CIWEM
